LISNews essay contest

The first ever LISNews Librarian Essay Contest invites librarians to write an original essay about issues that impact librarianship. The contest will run for the entire month of February, 2010, with the fabulous prizes awarded...
My contribution appears here, Patron Expectations vs. Librarian Expectations in Library Service.

And there are a few others on the main essay page.

You can read and vote and leave comments on all the submissions, and you can submit your own essay after you read what I wrote and realize how easy it is.

Any extended blog post with a central theme is essentially an essay, so it's not that big a deal to submit one; most of you write this stuff every day.

So go support LISNews by voting or commenting or writing. But don't feel bad when I win the grand prize (which I believe is a foot massage from Blake).
