Where would Batgirl look for a day job? The librarian by day, superhero by night, might check out the Web site of Library Associates, a recruiter based in Beverly Hills, Calif., that posts jobs it's filling for clients.I've never considered using a recruiter for a library job. I keep forgetting that librarians are highly trained professionals with specialized skills. For someone who drives a 1972 Ford Pinto, I appreciate that the WSJ reminded me of that.
They also listed LISjobs.com, Libraryjobpostings.org, and LIBJOBS,
I don't like the idea that I could involuntarily be without work, and right now our Governor wants us to vote for some property tax cut that could put me out of a job. I'm not sure what I would do then: "Hey, buddy. You want me to clean up your Facebook profile? Five bucks." I guess I'd modify some Chinese computer virus to spam 10 million emails: You girlfriend love big thick hard L1BRAR1AN. No prescription. Click here.
The only person I know of who's looking right now is Misadventures of the Monster Librarian. She's somewhere in Michigan. I think there are cows.
On a related: down the column a bit, the WSJ also lists job search sites for gamers. Maybe you gamer librarians can add a job searching workshop for your gamer teens: "Now that you can push buttons good, how to find that gamer job and quit embarrassing your parents."
