Jessamyn isn't sure how she feels about "pay-per-post" bloggers since she admires a guy who does it. I would accept money if I thought someone would pay me to do it. Kools are a smooth smoke. Charmin is a soft wipe. Harvard is a smart school. Kevin Trudeau is a s____g.

I use several Google products in order to get my thoughts to you: Gmail, Blogger, Feedburner. Google makes it very easy for me to blog. But I don't feel like I owe them any special loyalty; if they do something that alarms me, I feel I'm allowed to rant about it. But they own it all and share in any benefits this blog produces as a byproduct of others searching and linking and generating ad revenue.

Ultimately, I think I'm my own person. But I know that I'm not, really. I'm a product of my environment. If something excites me, I write about it. But what is that something? Is it an ad I saw on TV or a news story I got from Google or a song I heard on the radio? All these things are paid in some way or other, by corporations. So I become influenced indirectly. And there must be a point where so much indirect influence will actually change me.

So I guess I don't have a problem with someone blogging for bucks. I may already be a shill, but doing it for free. Or not. How can you know for sure? Drink Coke!
